The Best Nuru Award
How we judge
The whole method, in plain words. It's the same for every shop, including shops we know.
In one line
People vote, we check, we award. No shop can pay to be listed, ranked or awarded.
1. The ballot
Every nuru shop we know of in Bangkok and Pattaya is on the ballot. Customers take part in two ways:
- A vote for the best nuru in their city, and if they like, the best in their area. Once per person, per city, per month.
- A rating of a recent visit, on the same five things our inspectors check: a complete session, skill, effort, cleanliness and price honesty.
Every vote needs a verified person: a Telegram sign-in (one account, one vote), plus a bot check. Bursts of votes from one device, one network or a batch of new accounts are frozen and reviewed. Each shop's vote count is published.
2. The people's ranking
When a city reaches 300 verified votes, its ranking goes live and updates every month. It is an average that needs volume, so 5 votes can't beat 500, and it weighs the last 12 months most. No Google rating or review count is used anywhere in the award.
3. The Nominees
On 1 February 2027, the top 10 in Bangkok and the top 5 in Pattaya are named Nominees. A shop that later drops out of the top keeps its place until its visits are finished.
4. The visits
Each Nominee gets three anonymous visits in three different months, drawn by lottery. Each time the therapist is picked at random. The visits are paid for in full, like any customer. After the third, one open verification visit checks the training records and the health-check papers.
5. The three Rosettes
| I · Service | Required. The Nuru Standard on every visit. Each of the three visits is scored on completeness, skill and effort, and every visit must pass. The open visit then checks documented training from an accredited nuru trainer, regular health checks with dated clinic papers, and hygiene. The weakest visit decides, so one great therapist can't carry a shop. |
|---|---|
| II · The Team | An outstanding team in our inspectors' judgement, or a very large one: more than 25 therapists on shift a day. Judged on the visits and on verified customer ratings. |
| III · The House | The venue, food and drinks, front-of-house staff, how fast and how well bookings are answered, and the attitude from the door to goodbye. |
6. The levels
| Three Rosettes | Service, the Team and the House. |
|---|---|
| Two Rosettes | Service, plus the Team or the House. |
| One Rosette | Service. |
| Honourable Mention | Stands out on the Team or the House but doesn't yet reach the Service standard. Not a Rosette. |
| Nominee | On the shortlist, visits under way. |
Every award page shows which Rosettes a shop earned, not only how many. Verified customer ratings from this ballot count towards all three.
7. Exclusions
- Any sign of underage or coerced staff: the shop is excluded and the visit ends at once.
- Faked papers, proven vote-rigging or fake ratings: the shop is excluded for the year.
- Shops and their staff may not vote for themselves.
8. Privacy
We never publish a therapist's name, photo or health details. Award pages show shop-level facts only, for example "regular health checks, verified" or "8 of 10 therapists trained".
9. Every year
The ballot keeps running. Every award is checked again each year, and the year bar on a shop's plaque is replaced only if it keeps its level.
